Role Overview:

The Material Handler is responsible to Receive the material from supplier T1 following the safety and standard forms in the process and scanned to the right DC location, Put Away the material coming from manufacturing to the right DC locations , Cross Dock the material going to Chino and Joliet DC’s following the CTAP , Safety and Operation standard requirement, Cycle Account follow the rotation process day by day and reporting any discrepancies to supervisor, Stage Process from the pick list needs to pull all the material in the back location by commodity, Consolidation Process T1 in where he needs to follow the 2 standard procedures on Cabs and Platform to consolidate the T1 material (Suppliers) in the crates. This person is responsible for the 5’s area assigned and responsible to follow all the safety guidelines.

Shift: 2nd shift

On a typical day you will:

  • Ship material cross dock to Joliet and Chino all the material on the cross-dock area should be load in the proper trailer / container following the standard procedure for weight restriction, weight capacity, CTPAT (Custom) inspection, Trailer inspection, take pictures, secure the load, email load report to the customers and operation and filing the documents

  • Receive from supplier T1 the 100% of the material in the inbound schedule validating the BOL (Bill of lading), Take pictures, Trailer inspection, Fill the nonconformance process if its applicable, Filing documents and scan on the DC location by commodity.

  • Put Away material from manufacturing by commodity to the right location, everything left on the cross-dock area should be move before end of the shift.

  • Stage / Pull contracts to prepare to ship the 100 % of the LP on the pick list should be stage and place in order on the stage area.

  • Cycle Account the 100% of the locations following the rotation process and reporting any discrepancy to the supervisor.

  • Consolidate the small packaging material T1 from suppliers in the Cab Finish and Platform following the standard procedure and following the one-piece flow process.

  • Perform other duties as requested or assigned by supervisor or manager

  • Comply and follow all EH&S policies and regulations including ensuring proper PPE is always worn.

  • Proactively participate in ACE; including submitting turn backs to supervisor, assisting to provide appropriate solutions for QCPC data, and keeping area of responsibility up to 5s standards Understand implications.

  • Use of the proper equipment like Forklift, Scanners, Banding machine, PC, saw machine, Tuggar.

  • Ensure that work area remains clean and free of debris and promote continuous improvement by utilizing the 5S principles

  • Attend the necessary meeting for operation, safety, communication, etc.

What you will need to be successful:

Critical Skills

  • Material Handling Practices - Knowledge of loading and unloading trucks, flatbeds, straight trucks.

  • PIV - Sit down lift, reach trucks

  • DSI - To learn the main scrips for the DC operation.

  • Warehousing - Cycle Account / Inventories / Florence material, Supplier T1 material, locations.

  • Public Safety and Security - Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective local, state, or national security operations for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions.

  • Mechanical - Knowledge of machines and tools (Banding machine, strapping, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.

  • Operation and Control - Controlling operations of equipment or systems.

  • Critical Thinking - Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.

  • Active Listening - Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.

  • Reading Comprehension - Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.

  • Speaking - Talking to others to convey information effectively.

Education/Certifications

  • Minimum Education: High school diploma or GED

  • Preferred Education: High School

  • Minimum Experience: PIV, warehousing, shipping and receiving experience 0-1 Years

Physical Demands:

  • Must be Able to lift 35 lbs. If item weighs more than 35 lbs., employee must ask for assistance in lifting and/or use the appropriate crane, forklift or other lifting devises. Potential in this department - Very Heavy (120#)

  • Must be able to stand up to 10 hours a day

  • Walking, balancing, climbing, standing, twisting/turning, bending/stooping, crawling, crouching, kneeling/squatting, sitting, reaching above shoulder height, reaching forward, lifting (maximum 50 pounds), carrying, pushing/pulling, handling, feeling, digital dexterity, wrist flexion/extension, power grip, working speed, talking, hearing, seeing (with color vision) depth perception. Must be able to wear/use the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment. Mental requirements include, but are not limited to, the ability to concentrate, take initiative, and to cope with stress, and repetitive tasks and be able to self-inspect and take responsibility for quality of own work

  • Working on high (Scissor lift equipment).
